Matt Corcoran is a Digital Artist and Sculptor that designs and creates heroic characters and creatures that live in the realm of fantasy and imagination. Combining digital and traditional mediums Matt designs original sculpts, 3D prints to produces heroic character art.
During Matt’s career he has contributed to many forms of character art such as games, cinematics, film and collectable figures.
Currently, Matt has been working as Senior Character Artist and Character Designer for Outpost Games. Working closely with his wife, they designed and created a character art pipeline that spans between male, female and creatures. Designed to morph between each other and share assets such as facial, rigging, textures, and clothing. The character pipeline was designed to have an infinite amount of characters.
Prior to Outpost Games, Matt work for the legendary, Industrial Light & Magic as a Senior Character & Creature Artist. Matt’s creature sculpts can be seen in the record breaking Jurassic World. During his stay at ILM, Matt contributed to Creature Sculpting, Hero Digital Doubles, CG Hair, Texture Painting and Hard Surface Modeling.
Before ILM, Matt spent three years at AnatomyTools.com as a Character Artist working alongside anatomy specialist and master sculptor, Andrew Cawrse, in the creation of the 1/6th scale anatomy figures. In addition, he was an Assistant Instructor and a Workshop Manager for advanced anatomy and creature workshops.
